I travelled to Redcar near Middlesbrough at a time when the town's famous steelworks was closing and began to document the area through photography. By following news stories and social media I was able to attend different events organised for the redundant workers and gather a large amount of primary research.
A book designed to embody the personality of Redcar and record the events surrounding the SSI steelworks closure, along with its impact on the local community. All photographs are my own and the copy is my own writing unless stated otherwise.
